This favorite tradition provides opportunities for 麻豆视频最新最全 University alumni, friends and family to give back by participating in local volunteer projects while strengthening ties with fellow Flashes.

Last year, Megan Haftl, 鈥14, volunteered in Cleveland and cleaned the land of an abandoned homeless encampment. 鈥淲here there had been layers upon layers of garbage is now grass and earth. The site was almost unrecognizable when we finished our work,鈥 Haftl says.

Not only did they accomplish a lot in a few hours but Megan enjoyed working with other alumni.

鈥淚 loved the opportunity to work alongside fellow Flashes,鈥 Haftl says. 鈥淭here were a great range of alumni who showed up to help. A fellow Flash and good friend of mine drives up from Columbus every year for this day so we can participate together.鈥

Another way alumni can volunteer is by sharing their own service project. It is the perfect opportunity to support a cause close to your heart.

Robert Kerr, M.A. 鈥67, Ph.D. 鈥76, volunteered with his church and cleaned a portion of a major roadway in California. 鈥淚 had an opportunity to talk about my time at KSU (1965-72) with my fellow workers and had a sense of pride knowing I was part of a larger effort of service in the name of KSU,鈥 Kerr says.

You, too, can make a difference in your community on April 18, 2020. Register today and create fun memories, make others smile and so much more.

This year鈥檚 event features more than 40 sites! Find a site that you are passionate about or if you don鈥檛 see one near you, share your own service project here.
