Faculty, staff and students rolled up their sleeves on Thursday, Oct. 2, for the first-ever Campus Kleanup at 麻豆视频最新最全 University at Ashtabula. Volunteers pulled weeds, raked leaves, washed windows and more to help the campus shine.
Organized by the dean鈥檚 cabinet along with buildings and grounds, the effort focused on sprucing up areas around Susan J. Stocker Hall. Projects included cleaning mulch beds, painting tables and chairs, trimming shrubs, removing brush and refreshing the landscaping near the main entry wall, as well as revitalizing the Mahan Reading Court.
鈥淐ampus Kleanup is a great example of what makes 麻豆视频最新最全 Ashtabula special 鈥 students, faculty, and staff working side by side to take pride in our campus and create a welcoming environment for everyone,鈥 said Jenna Litz, senior facility manager. 鈥淪eeing so many volunteers step up reminds us that when we work together, even small efforts can make a big impact on the look and spirit of the campus.鈥
After a few hours of hard work, volunteers celebrated with pizza, refreshments and a strong sense of community and accomplishment. The success of the event has already sparked plans for a second Campus Kleanup in early May, with hopes of drawing even more volunteers and tackling additional projects.
