This is a reminder that you are not fully vaccinated and must take part in regular testing for COVID-19.
Who Must Test?
You are receiving this reminder for one of these reasons:
- You have an exemption from the university’s vaccine requirement and must submit to regular testing to comply with your exemption or you have submitted your request for an exemption and are waiting for it to be approved.
- You are noncompliant with the university’s vaccine requirement and must test until you come into compliance. Even if you are in the process of receiving your vaccinations, you must test regularly until you are fully vaccinated, which is two weeks after your final dose of vaccine.
- You are a new student and are still within your 60-day grace period for becoming compliant with the vaccine requirement. Grace periods end on March 19 for Kent Campus students and March 31 for Regional Campus students.
You do not have to test if you have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 90 days. Testing will be waived for you during that 90-day period, but you must . After the 90 days are over, you must test regularly.
We remind you that students who fail to comply with this required testing may be referred to the Office of Student Conduct for disciplinary action.
Where to Test
There are various ways you can complete this testing.
- Anyone, regardless of what campus you attend, may stop by and get tested at one of the Visit Healthcare sites on the Kent Campus, the locations and hours of operation of which may be found here. This testing is free. When you get your test results, you will need to submit them at .
- You may perform an at-home test and submit your results at . This test does not have to be proctored. You may , or you may purchase test kits at a pharmacy, the cost of which may be reimbursed through your medical insurance carrier. For those on our Regional Campuses, QuickVue test kits are available for this testing at these locations. QuickVue tests are free.
If during any of this compliance testing, you test positive for COVID-19, please call the COVID Response Team at 330-672-2525 to report your illness.
Please note: The BinaxNow at-home COVID-19 test kits distributed free on all our campuses are not permitted to be used for this testing.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ×îÐÂ×îȫ’s Vaccine Requirement
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ×îÐÂ×îȫ’s COVID-19 vaccine requirement applies to all students, faculty and staff on all campuses. Students who take only online courses are not subject to the requirement.
- If you already have gotten vaccinated, please make sure you have submitted proof of your vaccine here. If you are having difficulty submitting your information or already have submitted your information and are questioning why you are getting this testing message, please email your concerns to vaccine@kent.edu. It is possible your information was not submitted properly, your vaccine could not be verified or your vaccine is still pending verification.
- If you aren’t yet vaccinated, getting a vaccine is easy. You can near all our campuses. If it’s more convenient, COVID-19 vaccines are offered weekly at the DeWeese Health Center on the Kent Campus. Please at DeWeese.
- You also may request an exemption from vaccination. However, please understand that anyone who receives an exemption will be required to test regularly to ensure that they are not infected with COVID-19, which includes testing while you wait on approval of your exemption.
Please take steps to become compliant with the university’s vaccine requirement today. Failure to comply with the university requirement to be vaccinated or secure an approved exemption will result in a registration hold being placed on your record.
Need Help?
We understand that special circumstances may occur. For example, you may be registered for a course that is classified as in person, even though you do not have to come to campus to attend. In such special circumstances, you may email vaccine@kent.edu to request a waiver from testing.
