The Shannon Rodgers and Jerry Silverman School of Fashion Design and Merchandising at �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University held its Annual Fashion Show on April 24 and 25 at the school’s Rockwell Hall location. The 2015 show, dubbed “FS2: Visionnaire,” featured 17 collections and 55 individual looks created by 58 student designers. That sizable body of work spanned eveningwear, casualwear and sportswear, with a special category for sustainable production. There also were menswear, childrenswear and juniors collections.

�鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University nursing and public health students are learning about how faith based organizations play a key role in providing health care around the world.

As part of their degree program, 20 students, along with Ken Slenkovich, assistant dean of �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ’s College of Public Health, attended the World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. 

Anshul Sharma, a graduate student in �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University’s Chemical Physics Interdisciplinary Program in the College of Arts and Sciences, was awarded the Silver Graduate Student Award at the Materials Research Society’s 2015 Spring Meeting in San Francisco, California. She was recognized for her presentation on “Visualizing Gold Nanoparticle Chirality via Nematic Liquid Crystals.”

�鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University’s Liquid Crystal Institute^® will host a symposium called “Chirality at the Nanoscale” on June 4-5 in the Kent Student Center on the Kent Campus. 
 

In an office nestled inside �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University’s Nixson Hall, you can hear the voice of a third grade student coming from a computer screen.

“Beach ball,” says the voice from Greenfield Exempted Village Schools in Greenfield, Ohio.

Soon after, in the screen directly below, �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ graduate student Lauren Ledzianowski responds with, “Yes, beach ball! Very good.”

�鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University will be closed on Monday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day. Normal operations will resume on Tuesday, May 31.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University’s Min-Ho Kim, Ph.D., assistant professor of biological sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences, a $1,842,350 five-year grant.

The semester ended on a high note for �鶹��Ƶ������ȫ University’s contemporary a cappella singing group.
