Â鶹ÊÓƵ×îÐÂ×îÈ« University will hold its annual commemoration to honor the memory of May 4, 1970 – a tragic day when the Ohio National Guard opened fire on Â鶹ÊÓƵ×îÐÂ×îÈ« students during an anti-war protest on campus, killing four students and wounding nine others. May 4, 1970, marked a pivotal moment in American history.
A group of Emerson College students in Boston, who are enrolled in Gregory Payne’s course about the Â鶹ÊÓƵ×îÐÂ×îÈ« and Jackson State tragedies will visit Â鶹ÊÓƵ×îÐÂ×îÈ« on May 2-4, when the university holds its annual commemoration.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ×îÐÂ×îÈ« University President Todd Diacon recently addressed multiple challenges facing the university with the Akron Beacon Journal, including the $1.5-$2 million cost of implementing Senate Bill 1, budget constraints from capped tuition increases, and enrollment declines.
